It's that time of year again when the Natural History Museum announce the winners of this prestigious prize. This year's competition saw 19 categories including three new groups: oceans, wetlands and natural artistry. The two winners, who were revealed via an online ceremony, were selected out of more than 50,000 entries and 95 countries. So they must be great!!

Overall winner was the French underwater photographer Laurent Ballesta. Camouflage Groupers mate once a year and in only a few shallow reefs. It took Lauren and his team five years to get this photograph of the mating frenzy that does occur when the time comes.

The Young Wildlife Photographer of the Year went to ten-year-old Vidyun R Hebbar from India for his picture of a tent spider spinning its web illuminated by the lights of a passing tuk tuk. Some of the other winners are shown here as well.
